What is your favourite breakfast food?
I’m a frosted mini-wheats guy, but if I want to treat myself, it’s a Big Apple bagel.
What is your favourite piece of clothing?
My Duluth Airshow zip-up vest. Or maybe my Duluth Running Company running jacket. It’s a toss up.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be?
“The Man Who Went North”
What did you want to be when you were 12 years old?
13 years old.
What is your favourite language other than your own native language?
Spanish. I’m conversational, and when I have children, I’d love for them to be fluent.
What is the last book you read and why did you choose it?
The Elephant and the Dragon: The Rise of India and China and What it Means for All of Us by Robyn Meredith. It’s an engaging read written five years ago on the fundamental changes occuring in the world economy.
What was in your high school locker?
It’s been a while since high school…books for sure. I was a good student. Beyond that is anybody’s guess.
If you had a band, what would you name it?
Gypsies in the Palace. We’d be a Jimmy Buffet cover band, of course.
What is your favourite weird food combination?
Raw oysters on the half shell, fresh lemons, Tabasco sauce, and Abita beer. It may not be crazy weird, but raw oysters have put me in the emergency room twice and I still love them.
Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.
In my immediate family, being a white male means being in the minority. The three things that I enjoy most are running a trail race, sailing a boat, and flying a plane. Pretty much all my favorite places to eat are in Superior.
