What is your favorite breakfast food?

Potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce.

What is your favorite piece of clothing?
My new favorite piece of clothing is a jacket I recently bought at Art in the Alley–black and white with New York newspaper designs. Unique and fun–like everything in Tami Lapole’s shop!

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be?
Living the Theatrical Life in the Hinterlands

What did you want to be when you were 12 years old?
A stewardess–that’s what they called them before flight attendant became the pc thing. I just really wanted to travel and that seemed a good way to do it. My family lived close to the MSP airport in Bloomington, and I watched many planes fly over and dreamed about where they were going.

What is your favorite language other than your own native language?
I love French. I started as a French major in college before switching to English (Literature). French is an elegant language that sounds beautiful no matter what you are saying.

What is the last book you read and why did you choose it?
Swamplandia by Karen Russell. Loved the title and was entranced by the first chapter I read for free on my I-pad. Mystical and totally different from anything else I have read of late.

What was in your high school locker?
Lots of books. I was a nerdy, geeky reader and big on academics. I also had a baton with a flag on it for my non-nerdy side of being a flag twirler. Now that I look back on it though, that was pretty nerdy too.

If you had a band, what would you name it?
Tempest and the Teapots

What is your favorite weird food combination?
Top the Tater and a spoon.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself in random order.
I am a big fan of the Housewives of Beverly Hills, Hoarders, and Honey Boo Boo.

I have been married for 42 years.

I have met Cathy Rigby, Richard Chamberlain, Bert Blyleven, Johnny Carson, Stephen Sondheim, and Michelle Lee.

And now a little bit of a teaser about Sheryl’s upcoming summer show, Jekyll & Hyde:

Lundeen Productions announces its third annual summer theatrical production, Jekyll and Hyde, (the Musical). The show is scheduled for July 11-July 27, 2013 at the Harbor City Theater at 332 W. Michigan Street in downtown Duluth.

Jekyll and Hyde, directed by Sheryl Jensen, stars Dustin Hagen in the dual title roles and Jennifer Madill Hagen as Lucy. The couple, owners of the Madill Performing Arts Center in Duluth, last performed together as the Emcee and Sally Bowles in Lundeen Productions musical Cabaret.

The Hagens’ two sons, Cooper and Tanner, will be in the ensemble for Jekyll and Hyde. Jennifer Madill Hagen is also choreographing the show.

Jekyll and Hyde by famed Broadway composer, Frank Wildhorn, is having a limited run on Broadway this summer starring Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox. Before opening the revival on Broadway, the show had been on a 25-city tour.

Reviewers have called Jekyll and Hyde “an ingenious theatrical thriller” and “steamy, passionate, and intense.”

The Gothic style musical is based on the Robert Louis Stevenson 1886 novella of the same title telling the story of the misguided doctor who uses himself as a test subject as he tries to find the ways to eliminate evil from the nature of mankind.

With thrilling music and a cast of 20 talented area performers, the show promises to be one of the highlights of the summer entertainment scene. Jekyll and Hyde will include a live orchestra, under the direction of Ken Ahlberg, who is also the show’s vocal director.

Performances of Jekyll and Hyde will be Thursday-Saturday July 11-13 and Wednesday-Saturday on July 17-20 and July 24-28.
