Restorative Art Restores Communities

Posted on April 25, 2013 by oeuvreonline

By DENNIS KEMPTON This.  These images are sublime.  An abandoned church being bathed in a painted mural.  More cities should be doing this to their neighborhoods.  Click on the images in the gallery for a closer look.  Enjoy.

The Oeuvre Philosophy

Along with legitimizing, encouraging, and promoting the value and acceptance of art as an entire universe and lifestyle within us individually and in the greater culture, OEUVRE and its parent, Mendelssohn & Co. strive to break down economic, educational, and cultural barriers to art in all its forms through all of its content, corporate events, and engagements.

We, as staff, funders, and supporters encourage arts organizations and institutions to open up their facilities and programming to underrepresented groups and underprivileged people in affordable and discounted tickets, educational programs, and mentoring opportunities for those with greater economic means to sponsor and support those interested and eager to participate in and enjoy the performing arts who might not otherwise have opportunities in our community.

We believe that the arts are a unifier and a transcendent place where hope and beauty inform every human experience and emotion. We believe in an artistic life and the value and legitimacy of the arts as careers. And, we believe in art for art's sake.
